Oats (so easy) in a jar

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and why shouldn’t it be delicious and healthy as well? In an ideal world, we could get ready and sit and have a delightful buffet breakfast every morning, but unfortunately here in the real world, that is not the case.

So how do we make sure that we have a healthy breakfast waiting for us in the morning ready to be enjoyed? Easy, throw a couple of ingredients together, leave it in the fridge overnight, add your choice of flavoring, and enjoy! Not possible I hear you say? Oh but darlings, it is. Let me tell you how …

It is called OATS-IN-A-JAR and takes only three easy steps to make. There are so many combinations to choose from, here are a few of my favorites.

OATS-IN-A-JAR

  • 1/2 cup of oats (rolled or “old-fashioned”)

To make it easier, mix the flavor ingredients together the night before so as to simply add these to the oatmeal in the morning.

Step 3. Add your flavor to the oatmeal and enjoy

These are ideal for summer mornings as they nice and cool and are delicious with some fresh fruit.

Oatmeal is a great way to start the day as it a low GI which means that it will gradually release energy throughout the day.

Feel free to experiments with flavors and share your combinations with us.
